"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2, 1-13).

"Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.

While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. And they returned to Jerusalem with great joy, worshipped him, and were continually in the temple blessing God" (Luke 24, 50-53).

"Two of them were going to a village named Emmaus [...]] When (Jesus) was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight. They said to each other, "Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road? [...] He was known to them in the breaking of the bread" (Lk 24, 13-35).

"But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain [...] she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. [...] Jesus said to her, " Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father [...]" Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord [...]" (Jn 20, 11-18).

"On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran, and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple [...] Peter then came out with the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb [...] The other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from the dead" (Jn 20, 1-10).

"Joseph of Arimathea [...] asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave. So he came and took away his body. Nicodemus also [...] came. They took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices [...] Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb where no one had ever been laid [...] they laid Jesus there" (Jn 19, 38-42).

"And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom; and the earth shook, and the rocks were split; the tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many [...]" (Mt 27, 51-54).

"But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother [...] When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son!" Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother!" [...] After this Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfil the scripture), "I thirst." [...] When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished"; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." (Jn 19, 25-30).

"[...] Then the kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them [...] while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut [...].' Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour". (Matthew 25, 1-13).

"When they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." And they cast lots to divide his garments. And the people stood by, watching [...] There was also an inscription over him, "This is the King of the Jews." (Luke 23, 32-37).

"They seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus. And there followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women who bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children [...] For if they do this when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?"  (Luke 23, 26-31).

"[...] The assembly of the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes [...] and they said, "If you are the Christ, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe; and if I ask you, you will not answer. But from now on the Son of man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God." And they all said, "Are you the Son of God, then?" And he said to them, "You say that I am."  (Luke 22, 66-71).

"And during supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him,  Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper, laid aside his garments, and girded himself with a towel. Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded." (John 13, 2-5).

"[...] He took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." And likewise the cup after supper, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood." (Luke 22, 14-20).

"[...] When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me." [...] One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was lying close to the breast of Jesus [...] said to him, "Lord, who is it?" Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I shall give this morsel when I have dipped it." So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas [...] So, after receiving the morsel, he immediately went out; and it was night. " (John 13, 21-30).

"[...] Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion" (Lk 10, 38-42).

"And Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."  When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19, 23-26).

"Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.""  (Luke 18, 15-17).

"When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats [...] Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom [...] ' Then he will say to those at his left hand, `Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire [...]." (Mt 25, 31-46).

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it."  (Matthew 13, 44-46).

"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few." (Matthew 7, 13-14).

"Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers [...] Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion [...] Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." (Luke 10, 30-37).

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father." (John 10, 11-14).

"And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain apart. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him [...] a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him." (Mt 17, 1-8).

"The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst  they said to him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such. What do you say about her?" [...] Jesus said to them, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again."" (John 8, 1-11).

"Now it happened that as he was praying alone the disciples were with him; and he asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?"  And they answered, "John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets has risen." And he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" And Peter answered, "The Christ of God." (Luke 9, 18-21).

"Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world." They said to him, "Lord, give us this bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst." (Jean 6, 32-35).

" [...] And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care if we perish?" And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased [...] (Mark 4, 35-41).

"Then Jesus [...] said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat  [...]" How many loaves have you?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish." And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground, he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied [...]" (Matthew 15, 32-38).

"Every one who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid the foundation upon rock; and when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built.  But he who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell." (Lk 6, 47-49).

"And he [...] said: "Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. "Blessed are you that hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. "Blessed are you that weep now, for you shall laugh. "Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets. (Luke 6, 20-23).

"[...] Men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and lay him before Jesus; but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus [...] But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" -- he said to the man who was paralyzed -- "I say to you, rise, take up your bed and go home." " (Luke 5, 17-24).

"There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." [...] Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, `Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water" [...] "Every one who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst." (John 4, 7-14).

"There was a marriage at Cana in Galilee [...] Now six stone jars were standing there  [...] Jesus said to them, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the steward of the feast." So they took it. When the steward of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from [...]"  This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory." (John 2, 1-11).

"[...] He saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, "Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men." And immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. And immediately he called them [...] and they followed him." (Mark 1, 16-20).

"The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him." (Mark, 1, 12-13).

"Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli, [...] the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, [...] the son of Nathan, the son of David, the son of Jesse [...] the son of Judah, the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, [...] the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch [...] the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God." (Luke, 3, 23-38).

"Jesus came [...] to John, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" [...] And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him; and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3, 13-17).

"[...] Came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." [...] Then went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins [...] "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire [...]" (Mt 3, 1-12).

"[...] When he was circumcised, he was called Jesus [...] and when the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord [...] Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous [...] and inspired by the Spirit [...] he said "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation." (Lk 2, 21-35).

"[...] The time came for her to be delivered. And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. And in that region there were shepherds out in the field [...] And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (LK 2, 1-20).

"[...] Her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to send her away quietly. But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit;  she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." [...] (Joseph) called his name Jesus." (Matthew 1, 18-25).

"Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?"  [...] (Luke 1, 39-45).

"The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph [...] and the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!" [...] "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High" (Lk 1, 26-38).
