b-Abba - P 9 - How to follow Jesus-Christ
Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life" - How to follow Him?
*Jesus-Christ did not change anything to the ten Words (commandments) received by Moses (Exodus 34, 28). It is even a condition to inherit the eternal life.
* Jesus repeats the Commandments of Love of the Torah, because "there is no other commandment greater than these" (Mark 12,31).
- The first : "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might" (Deuteronomy 6,4-5).
- And the second : "You will love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord" (Leviticus 19,18).
* But Jesus-Christ gave "a new Commandment":
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another" (John 13, 34). He said also : "Learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart" (Mt 11,29) and "He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me" (John, 14,21).
Jesus also said :
"Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me". As Jesus is Love, it is necessary to be learned from Him. His teaching is that of the beatitudes, of the mutual forgiveness and of the humility.
Jesus, calling to him a little child, he put him in the middle of them, and said :
"Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this little child, the is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven" (Mt 18, 3-4).
It does not need titles nor diplomas to enter the Heaven : faith and love are the 'entrance' ticket".
What is impossible with men and women is possible with God (Lk 18,27).
The golden law (Matthew 7, 12) :
"Do to others whatever you would have them do to you".
