b-Abba - P 4 - Love
At the beginning of his Gospel, John writes:
"At the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".This incarnated Word is the Christ.
He adds at once:
"All things were made by Him" (the Word), in Him was the Life and the Life was the Light of the men".
John remembers words he heard from the mouth of Jesus:
“No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known” (1, 18)
or "Before Abraham was, I am" (8, 58). (“I Am” is the Name of God - Ex 3, 14)
or “I and the Father are one" (10, 30)
or "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth” (16, 13-15).
In his letters, Paul says that Jesus is Lord (Kurios), i.e. God. He also uses the words 'God'' or 'Son of God' to speak of Jesus (Rom 9, 5, 5, 10, …). Paul also brings together in one formula the three Divine Persons:
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all" (2 Co 13,13).
Because he is God, Jesus can say said about Himself:
"Me I am the Light of the world" (Jn 8, 12) and “Me I am the Way, the Truth and the Life" (Jn 14, 6).
The Father is God; the Son is God; the Holy Spirit is God; God is each one of them.
The Father, of any eternity, generates His only Son, Jesus Christ, eternal and King (The Messiah).
The Holy Spirit is the eternal Love exchange between the Father and the Son.
He is like the breath of the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is God, united to the Father and the Son, and equal to them.
Love is the best definition of the Christians' God :
"God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him" (1 John 4, 16).
