Just before rising to Heavens, Jesus, risen from the dead, said: "Everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms (Old Testament) must be full filled. Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead [...] and that repentance and forgiveness of sin should be preached in his name to all nations" (Luke 24,44-47).

Thus, during the Jewish feastday of Pentecost, the heavenly Father sent Holy Spirit who spread his gifts on the disciples (Acts 2,1-4). Then, they went on the roads and the seas to announce Gospel in the whole world, because Jesus had said to them :

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you (Mt 28, 19-20).

After some days, Peter and John were before the Rulers of the People and Peter said: "(Jesus) is the stone which was rejected by you builders, but which has become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4, 11-12).

The beginnings of the Church are related in the Acts of the Apostles, written towards 80. Today the assembly of the Christians (Church or People of God) gathers approximately 2 billion baptized. She has to gather all humanity in Christ. Christians are free women and men, equal in dignity. They are carried by a current of Life where each one gives and receives: the communion of the saints

.

They exercise all sort of jobs and have to testify of their faith and to love their neighbour there where they are, so that God's People extends all over the world and to every century.
