The sign of the Cross is an expression of faith in the Holy Trinity.

The sign of the Cross  or blessing oneself or crossing oneself, is also a ritual blessing.

The motion is the tracing of the shape of a cross in the air or on one's own body, echoing the traditional shape of the cross of the Christian Crucifixion narrative.

The Sign of the Cross is a prayer, a blessing, and a sacramental. As a sacramental, it prepares an individual to receive grace and disposes one to cooperate with it. The Christian begins his day, his prayers, and his activities with the Sign of the Cross:

1. At the front:                        In the Name of the Father
2. At the chest :                      and of the Son
3. At the shoulder:                 and of the Holy Spirit
4. At the other shoulder :       Amen

The word Amen is a Hebrew word that means believing (amam) This universal word is probably the best known. At the end of a prayer, Amen means: So be it, that it might be fulfilled.

The sign of the Cross signifies the grace of redemption that Jesus obtained for us by his Holy Cross.

Baptism is administered in the Name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Similarly, the absolution of sins is given in the Name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Islamists murdered many innocent Christians (Copts, Ethiopians, ...) by accusing them of belonging to the People of the Cross. Christians belong to the People of the glorious Cross, because the Cross of Jesus is the only way to salvation. There is no other Savior or Redeemer than Jesus Christ, nor angels nor  prophets, such as Abraham, Moses, nor kings nor prestigious leaders.

As St. Paul writes: "He (Jesus) humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Ph 2: 8-11).
