God is our salvation

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom do I fear? "  (Psalm 27.1 ) .

The history of salvation

"The whole history of salvation is identical with the history of the way and the means by which the one true God,  Father, Son and Holy Spirit, reveals himself to men "and reconciles and unites with himself those who turn away from sin" (DCG 47).

Salvation is for all and free

"This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth." (1Timothy 2,3b-4).

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2,8).

Jesus Christ is the only Saviour

The name Jesus means " God saves." : “There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved." (Acts 4:12)

“In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins (1 John 4:10).

«  Moreover, we have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as savior of the world.  » (1 John 4:14).

“You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin." (1 John 3:5).

The necessity of baptism

The Lord affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation: “no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (John 3, 5).

He also commands his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and to baptize them: "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16, 16);

Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament.

Baptism is not a magic practice

Baptism is not a magical practice, it is the sacrament which immerses us in the death and resurrection of Christ; after baptism, we need to confirm our faith in the Holy Trinity by faith, love and perseverance:

”For, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans, 10, 9).

“For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” (James 2,26).

“Whoever endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 10, 22b).

In case of grave sin, the sacrament of reconciliation is like "a plunged back" in the water of baptism.
